How to Use the Block Sizing Feature

Need To Adjust the Sizing of Your Blocks? You Can Do That!

Adding a Block to your page is one of the great ways of adjusting your ChurchSpring website to fit your specific ministry needs. Adjusting that block size will keep your website's mobile view much cleaner!

Where do I find the sizing tool?

When you create a block in your website, the adjustment tools for that block are located in the top right-hand corner. The third icon is the "sizing" icon. When you click this, you will see the following box...

There are three main things you need to know as you size your blocks...

  1. Sizing Unit - The sizing unit used is called pixels. This is the measurement tool for screens. When you place your desired measurements into the boxes, make sure they are in the hundreds. Note: If you place measurement numbers in all three boxes, the system will automatically read the largest number and apply that to your block.
  2. Setting the Measurements - There is padding above your text and padding below your text. You can make the width of the padding different depending on the measurement numbers you add to the top or bottom box! If you want to take a shortcut, just set the minimum height for the entire box. Our designer recommends 300 or 400 pixels. If you want to return to the block's default size, simply delete all of the measurement numbers and click "Save Changes."
  3. Template Exceptions - The sizing feature is available on all block templates except the Sermons Block and the Events Block. These two templates are not designed to be size-editable.

Once you have entered your sizes, click on the Save Changes box at the bottom and you are done!
