How to Connect Your Streaming Destinations

Within the Live Stream platform > Settings of your website, both the Online Studio and the Advanced Setup have a “Destinations” block.

The Destinations block allows you to send your live stream to one or more platforms — your church website, YouTube, Facebook, or any custom RTMP service — while still recording high-quality, local video and audio from all participants.

Below is a breakdown of the four areas you can send your live stream to from your website.

1. Web Streaming (Stream in Your ChurchSpring Website)

Web Streaming lets visitors watch your live session directly on your own website. This destination is built-in and doesn't require an external account connection. 

  1. In the Streaming > Settings > Destinations block, the Web Streaming in both Online Studio and Advanced Setup pages should automatically say “Connected.” No further setup is needed. 
  2. If you want Web Streaming to be the destination automatically selected for future sessions, you can toggle the “Set as Default” button.

2. YouTube

Connecting YouTube allows you to broadcast your live session directly to your ministry YouTube channel.

  1. In the YouTube section of Destinations, click Connect.
  2. You'll be redirected to sign in with the Google account associated with your YouTube channel (if not already signed in).
  3. If you have never livestreamed from YouTube previously, you will need to enable live streaming on your YouTube channel. We have a tutorial on how to do that here.
  4. Review the permissions requested (the ability to create and manage live broadcasts on your channel) and click Allow or Continue.
  5. Select the YouTube channel you want to connect, if your account manages more than one.
  6. Once authorized, you'll be redirected back to the Destinations block, where the YouTube area should now show Connected.
  7. When starting your next live session, select YouTube as a destination to begin streaming to your channel.

3. Facebook

Connecting Facebook allows you to broadcast to a Facebook page.

  1. In the Facebook area of Destinations, click Connect.
  2. Log in to Facebook if prompted, and grant the requested permissions (permission to post and manage live video on your Facebook page).
  3. Choose whether to connect your personal profile or another specific Facebook page.
  4. Confirm the connection. You'll be redirected back to the Destinations page, and the Facebook area should now show Connected.
  5. When starting your next live session, select Facebook as a destination, and choose the specific page if you manage multiple Facebook accounts.

4. Custom RTMP

Custom RTMP lets you stream to any platform that accepts an RTMP feed (a third-party streaming service not directly integrated).

  1. In the Custom RTMP area of Destinations, click the black Configure button at the bottom of the column.

  1. Within the pop-up window, enter the RTMP Stream URL provided by your target platform (this is usually found in that platform's streaming/broadcast settings).
  2. Enter the Stream Key associated with that RTMP URL.
  3. Turn the toggle button ON next to “Enable Custom RTMP” to enable it as an active destination.
  4. Click SAVE.
  5. The Custom RTMP card should now show as Enabled, and it will be available as a destination option for future live sessions.

Tips

  • You can enable multiple destinations at once for a single session — for example, streaming to both YouTube and your website simultaneously.
  • If a connection fails or shows Not Connected after attempting to authorize, try disconnecting and reconnecting, or check that you're logged into the correct account (YouTube/Facebook).
  • Keep RTMP stream keys private — treat them like a password, since anyone with the key could stream to that destination.
