ChurchSpring Giving: How To Downgrade to Radar Lite for My Stripe Account
Stripe's Radar is a powerful built-in, fraud-detection tool to catch fraudulent payments and protect your account. As fraud has grown more sophisticated, Stripe has continued expanding what Radar can do, and as of January 22, 2027, that expanded functionality comes with new pricing tiers: Lite, Standard, Plus, and Pro.
Starting on that date, Radar Standard will charge $0.05 per scanned transaction. It remains a great option packed with advanced features, but if your ministry doesn't need the extra customization and reporting tools, Radar Lite offers the same core fraud protection completely free.
Below, we'll walk you through how to check your current plan and switch to Radar Lite if that’s the better fit for you.
Step 1 - Log in to your Stripe account
When you set up your ChurchSpring Giving platform within your website, you created a Stripe account for the processing and fund movement of your donations. Using the credentials you created at that time, go to Stripe.com and follow the prompts to log in to your account.
Step 2 - Search!
Within the dashboard of your Stripe account, the fastest way to locate the Radar plan is to search for it in the top search box. The Stripe system will offer you options in the drop-down window. Select the one for Plans and Fees.
Step 3 - Plans and Fees > Radar
Once you have located the Plans and Fees area of Stripe, you should be able to scroll down the page and see the Radar feature listed. Click on “View Plan Details.”
Step 4 - Radar Standard
Within the Radar Standard section, click the purple button, “View Plans” in order to change to the free option of Radar.
Step 5 - Radar Lite
In the selection of levels of Radar plans, you will need to scroll down the page to the “More Options” area. This is where you can click on “ Lite” and change from Radar Standard to the free option of Radar Lite.
What's the difference between Radar Lite and Radar Standard?
The Stripe Help Desk gives the following information regarding the Radar plans:
*Radar Lite includes AI-based fraud prevention for card payments and is included at no additional charge for businesses* [ministries] on standard payments pricing. With Radar Lite, you can:
- Lower fraud for card payments
- Protect against card testing attacks
- Get alerts about fraudulent activity
*Radar Standard gives you broader protection [for a per transaction fee] against payment fraud, and more control and visibility into your fraud performance. It includes everything in Radar Lite. In addition, you can:*
* Protect against a broader range of fraud on cards
* Reduce fraud across all payment methods
* Understand fraud performance
* Set default allowlists and blocklists
